Entry for January 31, 2008
saturday is the annual northwest college rodeo team fundraiser. this year i am again donating hundreds of chocolate dipped strawberries and a giant gift basket for the silent auction. the bulk of the teams budget comes out of what they raise this weekend. the silent auction is always packed with great items. the live auctiom always has top notch art, vacations, pack trips etc. the proud cut supplies the prime rib dinner, and they always do a great job. i cant remember, but i think bobby chitwood was the entertanment last year. with the collegiate rodeo circuit in full swing, this event is critical to their success. now, if we can only get the fuel prices to drop, a lot, it will be easier to travel to all of the rodeos. hauling a horse trailer can get expensive when deisel is $3.40 per gallon. thats why cowboys always "carpool" between rodeos. splitting expenses can make all the difference. tickets for the rodeo gala can be bought at the door, the proud cut, rawhide coffee and i think a few other places. doors open around 5:30, dinner is at 6:30 and the live auction follows. this is the main event of the winter, so hopefully we will see you there. if you cant make it, del (rodeo team coach) at the proud cut would be happy to accept any donation. let er buck.
