one week down, 51 to go. time is flying, seems like new year's eve was only a week ago..... i head for denver in less than two days, cant wait. i'm going to head up to boulder for a few days to torment some friends from college, and see what beer tastes like there. it will be nice to be at a lower elevation. those low lyers are at 5,300 feet. how do they survive? not that we are much higher. my house is at about 6,500 feet, not bad. keeps it cool in the summer. usually. as for boulder, it always cool there. altitude with attitude. the stock show officially opens saturday. there are a few pre events for the horse shows and the timed events slack this week. those are fun to watch without the huge crowds. most of the cattle will be arriving towards the end of the week. its amazing to look out over the stockyards and see all of the cattle and their crews. this is the 102nd national western. i'm glad that an event like this is able to carry on, and be strong, in this day and age.
